While I was driving to Colorado last week my brother and a couple of friends were driving back from Wyoming after a successful fishing trip to the North Platte. There is nothing better than big fish stories with photos to back them up.
With its headwaters in Colorado, the North Platte flows north into south-central Wyoming. It has over 150 miles of fishable water, the most notable sections are tailwaters. The “Miracle Mile” flows between Seminoe Reservoir and Alcova Reservoir. Below Alcova is the “Gray Reef” stretch. Both are well known for the their large rainbow and brown trout. Relatively easy access and easy float conditions make this section of the North Platte worth a visit.
We are definately planning a trip back up to central Wyoming to fish for these large trout.
