Bass Fishing

The photograph above was taken by Paul Brown of Bloomington, IN. Paul fished with us in October and landed the largest fish caught by one of my clients this season.

When he e-mailed me the picture it immediately struck me. The image captures the preparations and the anticipations of the day to come. Pictured on the banks of “Gateway” lake are Mad River Outfitters owner and head guide, Brain Flechsig and Tim Mather, Paul’s angling partner for the weekend.

Largemouth Bass, October ‘08

I just got back from a fantastic weekend guiding for largemouth bass. The weather was great for the anglers but high pressure and clear blue skies made the fishing tough at times. The Fall colors were starting and make a great backdrop for some of these fish pics. Thanks to everyone for making this sund a great weekend.

In case you were wondering there are three bass pictured below that measured over 20 inches. The largest is was 23 inches (the Ohio state record largemouth bass is just over 25″.)
